Island Getaways

"WOW, where do I even begin. I received a referral to contact Nancy Finn to assist in planning our destination wedding. I must admit I was skeptical at first being that we lived in Pennsylvania and Island Getaways is based out of Wisconsin. After my first phone call to Nancy Finn and her husband Tom, all doubts were gone. They were extremely professional and knowledgeable yet made us feel extremely comfortable in assisting us plan our special day. From helping us to choose our location to booking our large party everything was seamless. We felt as though Nancy knew us personally and shared our vision of the perfect tropical wedding.
Upon arrival to Beaches Resort in Negril, Jamaica we were greeted with the pleasant surprise of a room upgrade compliments of Island Getaways; our perfect wedding moon had begun. We enjoyed the beautiful resort and awaited the arrival of our guests. Upon arriving back to our room the night that night we were greeted with a gift from Nancy Finn. A bottle of champagne and cheese platter were delivered to our room for my soon to be husband and myself to share. The following morning our guests arrived at the resort and they were also greeting with a pleasant surprise. All of our guests received room upgrades as well. None of this would have been possible without Nancy & Tom Finn and Island Getaways. From the moment we arrived to the day we left, we were treated like royalty. It was truly an experience of a lifetime and the perfect way to start our lives as husband and wife. I would like to sincerely thank Nancy and Tom Finn along with the staff at Island Getaways for making our dreams come true."

Panache Desserts

"I had the extreme pleasure to work with Colleen Ruetz and Panache Desserts for my wedding. In wedding planning there are so many stresses but immediately I felt comfort with Panache Desserts. Everything was so simple and the flexibility made my life just a little easier during such an important time. The cake arrived as it should at our location and was ready to be devoured. Following the routine cake in the face our first bites melted in our mouths and we looked at one another amazed how exceptional the cake truly was. I highly recommend Panache Dessert for any event as their services are not limited to wedding cakes." ~ Erika Osborn, Lake Geneva - Wisconsin

Set the Night to Music - 10-3-08

The setting was perfect last evening at the Schlitz Audubon for the Cross/Allen wedding ceremony and reception. The rustic log interior of the venue overlooking Lake Michigan with the vibrant falls colors of the nature center surrounding us were only second to how beautiful Janet and Jeff looked as a newly wed couple! Lots of little black dresses at this formal affair. We started the evening with a meet & greet at 6:00 for which the couple chose a mix of upbeat traditional jazz artists such as Grover Washington Jr., George Benson, Michael Buble and Queen Latifah. The ceremony was held in an adjacent room at 7:00 with Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring by Josh Groban used as the processional. A karaoke version of Only Hope was played to accompany Janet’s daughter, Justine, to sing. Following the ceremony, the guests dined at several food stations and the traditional jazz sounds set a relaxed atmosphere while they enjoyed their dinner and conversation. The reception portion of the evening began with an aerial photo from the balcony of all the guests gathered on the dance floor (I can’t wait to see this one!). Perfect opportunity for us to get the party going! While surrounded by all their family and friends, the first dance chosen by Jeff and Janet was In Your Eyes by George Benson (a unique and beautiful piece). A mix of genres were played throughout the evening as guest requests were taken and played! It was great to see almost all the guests stayed until the end of the evening. We again thank Jeff and Janet for allowing us to participate in one of the most special day’s of their lives.

SKW saves the day! June 14, 2008

June 14, 2008 turned out to be a testament of pure planning and perseverance for Wedding Center Pro, Some Kinda Wonderful Floral and Décor. With temperatures rising to 85 outside, the pressure was on as I arrived in Eau Claire 7.5 hours after leaving Milwaukee. I could see that all of our extra efforts paid off when I finally arrived and had the chance to look everything over. In all honesty, I was not pleased with the unity candle arrangement as that had seemed to take on the heat and "out of cooler" time more so than the other items. But, as I always do, I brought along extra flowers in the event we were faced with a problem and was able to re-do the arrangement to look perfect. Once the Bride walked down the aisle following her 10 Bridesmaids, I could relax seeing that everything looked beautiful! Next it was onto the reception venue where all 30 table centerpieces had to be created on-site. The flowers in the 32" tall cylinders were a hit complete with LED down lighting, clear gel ice cubes, stargazer lilies and magenta orchids. LED lights were also placed in the arrangements on top of the vases for an extra "light" effect. The bride was truly amazed, Rshe had seen a wedding vendor in Eau Claire that designed something similar but knew she could not afford their services. So, we worked within her budget to create what was still being talked about the day after at the gift opening. I am so grateful for the beautiful photos taken by Distinctive Memories Photography also of The Wedding Center. Thank you so much Robin for sharing your beautiful work with me! Please take a look at the day Raya and Caleb shared together; it was truly a beautiful wedding!
